SALT POOLS
SALT POOLS CONSIST OF 2 COMPONENTS

1. A control panel box with a display using lights, LED readout or both. It is mounted near the pool equipment and it requires electricity to operate. In southern Arizona, exposure to the harsh sun and blowing dust can cause inaccurate readings.. Most have a disclaimer stating to do a manual test before adding salt etc.

2. A salt cell that is located in the return pipe is the device that actually produces the sanitizer for your pool by water and salt passing through it. The sanitizer content is then measured and transmitted to the control panel for analysis and adjustment. Salt cells can build up a residue and need to be cleaned when this occurs. Winter water temperatures do not require as much sanititzer and the output control should be lowered to prevent unnecessary build up in the salt cell.
